You will love your new bamboo, because the foliage impresses with an intensely colored, rich green that, despite the upright Growth habit: umbrella-like, cascading foliage. The culm sheaths change color throughout the year, from a rich green to a reddish-brown, finally to a beautiful golden yellow. Your garden bamboo will thrive in a sunny to partially shaded, sheltered location. When planting, ensure the soil is humus-rich and well-draining. Garden bamboo is quite thirsty, so water it regularly, but avoid waterlogging. In spring, fertilize the bamboo with bamboo fertilizer.
